Just got back from a dive trip to the Sea of Cortez. We did a day hunting whale sharks in Bahia de Los Angeles. Behold the Oris “Whale Shark” next to its namesake:

I just bought a Doxa Sub 300 from a private seller on Chrono 24. The standard set of warning flags applies here.

The seller listed the watch as "like new and unworn." Some of the pictures were somewhat blurry. The watch looked in good shape. There was no picture of the clasp.

I offered about 10 percent less than he was asking and we made the deal. The watch arrived. It's running well within COSC and the crystal, bezel, and case are in good condition.

Chrono 24 private seller: a cautionary tale

I have a "COSC-certified" (Doxa) Sub 300 with I believe to be the SW200-1 (made in 2025). I bought it from a fellow WUSer when it was essentially new. I have observed the following:

1. It ran within COSC (like +1-2 spd) for a week or two after I got it.
2. It suddenly started running fast, like +7 spd.
3. I regulated it back to +1-2 spd.
4. It ran like that for a few days, then started running slow.
5. I regulated it again, back to 1-2 spd.
6. It ran at 1-2 spd for a few days, then started…

FSO: Sinn 903 St HB Limited Edition

I have a "Triple Tree" watch winder I bought from Amazon. I've had several different watches on it for days at a time with no issue.

The other day, I put my Doxa Army (SW200-1) on it. I noticed that it was losing time after a few days. I put it on the timegrapher, and noticed the amplitude was very low (~250-260 degrees). The movement was also slow (~-10spd). I took the watch off, wound it manually several times, put it back, and the amplitude was back up (~310 degees) and the timekeeping…

SW200 on watchwinder: doesn't fully wind!

I just got a Sub 300, LNIB, from a fellow WUSer. I love it. I don't like the clasp on the Sub 300. I also have the Army, 300T, and 200T, all of which have the "ratcheting diver clasp." I MUCH MUCH prefer the ratcheting clasp over the stamped, unadjustable clasp on the 300.

So I tried to buy a 300T bracelet on the Doxa website. It's not available for purchase. I wrote an email to Doxa CS asking if I could buy an Army or 300T bracelet to put on my 300. They responded with some gobbledy-****…

Frustrating Doxa CS experience: am I the crazy one?

For sale only, no trade offers please, is a nearly new Tuul "Filthy 13" with bronze case. As the photos show, the bronze is starting to develop a nice patina. I'm selling because (pick your favorite): I didn't bond with it, catch and release, not getting any wrist time, needs to go where someone will wear it, etc….

I bought this in Oct 2024 and only wore it a couple of times. I didn't wear it on the included strap except to try it on. It comes full kit with warranty good until Oct 2026…
