Here is an attractive Omega Constellation (ref 14381) from the early 1960s on a signed beads of rice bracelet with #11 end-links. The two-tone dodecagonal dial with gold furniture shows even signs of age. The case is lightly polished, but the lugs disp…
Continue readingOmega DeVille 166.033 with BoR, double-signed Türler
Here is a very nice 1960s Omega DeVille double-signed by the retailer Türler. It’s in very fine condition with a clean dial and sharp case. The sunburst silver dial has applied markers with black inlay and beautifully aged lume dots, and the hands match perfectly. The 1037 beads of rice bracelet with 564 end-links is long (22 links) and tight. The watch has not been serviced in my possession but is operating correctly, including the quick-set date which advances when the crown is pulled out…
Continue readingFirst Seiko diver 62mas (6217-8001) from 1967
For sale is a 1967 ref 6217-8001 (aka 62mas), which was Seiko’s first real dive watch. Much has been written about this watch on the internet, and Seiko has released several reissues in recent years. This is the original. It has an automatic movement (not hand-winding) and the watch is approximately 38mm in diameter. It can be hard to find them with clean lume and an attractive bezel, so this is a better than average example, IMO. The case is also sharp with original brushing and the…
Continue readingPost a curated single-brand three-watch collection
I think it would be fun to make a thread focusing on selective groupings from individual brands, emphasizing quality and variety instead of quantity. Feel free to interpret the three-watch collection concept creatively. 😀

[1964 Grand Seiko 43999, 1967 6217-8001 (aka 62MAS, first diver), and 1964 45899 Olympic monopusher, first chrono]
[REDUCED] First Seiko chronograph ref 45899 with 1964 Olympic torch case-back
For sale is a 1964 ref 45899 hand-winding Seiko monopusher chronograph. This was Seiko’s first chronograph, released for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics with the Olympic torch on the back. This is a very good example IMO, with a beautiful sunburst charcoal dial and clean lume plots and hands. Notably, the watch retains its original intact bakelite bezel (rotating smoothly), which was often replaced during service with a stainless service part. The 37mm case is extremely sharp, showing detailed and…
Continue reading62mas: crowns and case-backs
I just received my first 1st-series 62mas, a.k.a. reference 6217-8000, so I thought I’d make a short thread to mention the variations. The 6217-8000 was made only briefly in April-May 1965 and is most easily recognized by the small crown. The dolphin case-back is in very shallow relief that often wears badly. Subsequently, the second series 6217-8001 was produced for several years. It has a larger crown, and was released with two different case-backs, a plain text-only version and a dolphin…
Continue readingCitizen Challenge Diver 62-6198
Here’s something different for Omegaforums. I did a quick search and didn’t find another one that has been listed here. For sale is a 1975 Citizen “Challenge Diver” ref 62-6198 in good overall condition. The case is approximately 40mm, with 20mm between the lugs. This is a great rugged diver that is a pleasure to wear. I assume that most readers will be familiar with this reference so I won’t go into great detail. There is also plenty of info on the internet, including a writeup at Fratello…
Continue reading[PRICE DROP] Vintage oversized Rolex Precision 6424 with optional 7206 Swiss rivet bracelet
[Now selling with or without bracelet. See below for pricing.]
For sale is an uncommon 36mm hand-winding Rolex Precision circa 1965 (serial 1,124,XXX). This is the same size as a DateJust, but thinner and without a date window or magnifier. An unusual…
Continue readingWhat the heck did I buy: monocoque Seamaster with arrowhead markers?
This was an impulse buy in an auction without enough time to research. Kind of questionable as a whole, but some interesting parts. These are the seller’s photos, I will try to get photos of the inside when it arrives.
