Prior to 1998 dials used tritium lume and were signed ‘Swiss – t <25’, in 1998 Rolex introduced Luminova and changed the dial to ‘Swiss’ only. Shortly after Rolex switched to Super Luminova and adjusted the dial to ‘Swiss Made’. The serial begins with Axxxxxx dating this watch correctly to 1999.

Watches produced during this time bear the ‘Swiss Only’ mark on their dials, making them highly sought-after by collectors worldwide.
