I'm certainly no expert, but in terms of collectibility, is there more value in getting the first model of a watch vs the most recent with upgraded features?

For practicality, the newer model I'm looking at has 120 hr PR with $160 extra on the price tag vs the original model at 72 hr. The movement is otherwise practically the same.

The original model is about 5 years old now. Does that mean it would need to be serviced even new and not worn since it has been that amount of time sitting...

Is it better to buy a first model or the most recent?
