Ok, just curious what are the current options on mechanical dive watches that are 40mm with 20mm lugs for less than $500? Seiko really doesn’t make anything in this space as the Seiko 5 divers are either 38mm or 42mm. Not really anything from Orient as the Makos and Kamasus are bigger. There’s probably Ali Express type brands but I was thinking more mainstream brands. For my wrist it’s ideal size, but seems not much good choices in this price range but I’m hoping people throw out some options.

I bought my Sinn 556i about eight years ago and have never had it serviced but also have had zero issues with it in all that time, running great and in great condition. I know water resistance is an endlessly debated issue here. I was curious though people’s actual experience with ever getting water inside a watch? I personally have never had it occur but only been collecting watches about a decade. It’s one of biggest fears of a watch collector but maybe is extremely rare in real life. So please share any experiences with actual water intrusion you’ve had, and the watch model, age, service history, and circumstances.

Recently the Oyster Perpetual 36mm has come in my radar. I just think it looks like the platonic ideal of a watch, love its simplicity and proportions. I don't want any of the rarer, more expensive colors - I'm fine with black or blue and maybe even silver. If I went into an average dealer right now, would it be difficult to get one? Anyone have experience on those models and wait times and such?
