I'll keep it short and sweet, but wanted to relay my personal unexpected experience with this whole watch bit. I've always owned and appreciated watches and wanted to up my commitment.

I learned it all...the movements, the brands, the exclusivity, the aesthetics, the history, the pride. I'm a technical minded person and took to it naturally. It got me very excited to jump into high horology and I had a great appreciation for these mechanical wonders. I was ready to get my feet wet...

I'm sure no one has ever talked about this before.

I just installed a combi bracelet on my AWGM100. The levels of stupid and suck present just to install a bracelet was mind-boggling. I'm stunned how bad it was, but it is finally on with a little chewing of the lugs. Not gonna lie, it is a great bracelet.

In retrospective research, I now see that some intrepid soul somewhere found the keys to the kingdom is using 16x1.8 spring bars in lieu of the standard 16x2.0...

Honest question to owners. The VHP appeals to me for probably the same reasons as everyone else here, so there is no point in re-litigating those here.

However, it doesn't exactly sound like a serendipitous relationship. Between short battery life, frustrating battery replacement processes and procedures, anomalous behavior, some reports of less than comfortable case finishing, and what appears to be Longines distancing themselves from the model - I question whether the ownership...

Is a new VHP worth owning?

I have found a lot of information on these models individually of course, but haven't been able to find direct comparisons. As large as the G-Shock world is, I haven't found a single side-by-side photo. I'm hoping to find someone who owns or has at least handled both at the same time.

I'm asking because I'm looking for a smaller watch for my small-ish wrist. We know we can't rely on Casio's weird measurements.
