It’s finally that time – 90’s Seamaster Professional 200m “Pre-Bond” 1438 movement

Well, after owning (original owner) my early 90’s 1438 movement Seamaster Professional 200m mid size, champagne dial, gold bezel and gold applique mid links, for all this time, it’s finally time for repair/servicing.

I’ve read the 1438 movement is a rebadged ETA 255.461, that I believe is discontinued as well as the Omega movement.

I’m concerned about all the usual things – where best to have the work done, does Omega still service these, are they…

Elgin A-17A legit or not?

Hello, pilot’s and mil timepieces board. First time posting here, as I’m primarily a vintage Accutron collector.

I found this wonderful Elgin A-17A several years ago at an outdoor antique fair. I purchased it in a lot of 3 total pieces, with this being the main “target.”

While these pieces aren’t my forte I had more than a feeling this was something special and I thought it to be legit. I’ve done some research on it but felt it’s time to post here for some critique.

Recent addition – case style 762

A recent addition of mine. I’ve always liked this case style and years ago I found a NOS dial for the gold plated version within the prize box from Tickswift. Tickswift had graciously put up that box of dials as a prize for another forums banner pic, and at the time my pic had won. The box was lost in the mail and long “written off” but then surprisingly showed up on my porch many months later, looking well traveled.
